Precious Lord, take my hand....
I recently received a lovely card, all the way from Brazil, referencing Isaiah 41:10–13. It made me think about what it means for God to hold our right hand (v. 13).
When God holds your hand, He’s not just beside you; He’s your protector and guide. Holding hands reveals intimacy, comfort, and reassurance. God wants us to know He is personally present with us in every moment—the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the sad.
When life leaves us weak or uncertain, God's grip is steady. His hand strengthens us and leads us to victory. His victory becomes ours. And we are strengthened with His strength.
But there’s even more! When God takes our right hand, it reveals our surrender. The right hand, traditionally our working hand, represents our efforts and capabilities. By taking it, God interrupts our striving—not to halt our work, but to make it all it could be.
There's beauty in this divine-human partnership.
In stillness, God's hand brings comfort and companionship. He offers us “God rest.” And from this place of assurance, He leads us on paths of peace,
Even in times of transition, God's presence aligns us with His purpose. In this active partnership, He knows just how to combine rest with readiness, timing with intention.
Imagine God holding your hand today.
His touch can interrupt anxiety, overthinking, and grief, and connect your world to His everlasting kingdom. Let His presence remind you that you are not defined by what you achieve but by your relationship with Him. Let God anchor you in the “nowness” of the eternal Kingdom which was, and is, and is to come.
Wherever you are—sitting, moving, advancing the work of God—let His hand comfort, steady, and guide you.
You are not alone. You are held. You are helped. You are His. His grip is unwavering. His guidance is sure. His love is unshakable.
Let this moment remind you of His faithfulness. Fear not. God is with you. Precious Lord, take my hand.
